RED HEAD BRASS

Red Head Brass offers a variety of adapters and couplings.

One coupling offered is the lightweight municipal and industrial expansion ring coupling.  All Red Head lightweight, extruded couplings are made of 6061-T6 high strength, aluminum alloy, 1/3 the weight of brass.  Their couplings at 40,000 + lbs.  yield strength are twice the strength of forged brass.  No castings are used.   All parts are made of extrusions.  The metal is dense and free of porosity.  All are hardcoated to eliminate electrolysis.

Hardcoat is a hard, dense coating formed by converting the surface of the aluminum alloy into a hard aluminum oxide.  The coating resists abrasion and corrosion.  This is the standard gray finish on all extruded lightweight couplings.

Swivels on 1" thru 2 1/2" couplings are attached using an aluminum piston ring.

Swivels on 3" (including reducers) and 3 1/2" couplings are attached using stainless steel ball bearings.

Swivels on 4" thru 6" swivels are attached using roller bearings.

Another coupling offered is the 7700 series heavy duty expansion ring coupling.  Sizes 1" thru 6" is the tough extruded 6061-T6 lightweight, high strength aluminum alloy.  These are for heavy duty municipal and industrial use.

There are two rocker lugs on the 1" male and swivel.  There are three rocker lugs on the male and swivel 1 1/2" thru 3 1/2".  On sizes 4" to 6" there are four rocker lugs on male and swivel.

The most popular adapters are the double male and double female.  The double swivel female is for adapting from male to female.  It is made from extruded 6061-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy, then hardcoated to resist corrosion and abrasion.

The double male is for adapting from female to male.  It is made for rocker lug only.  It is also made from extruded 6061-T6 lightweight aluminum alloy, hardcoated to resist corrosion and abrasion.
